Forging bonds through the performing arts
Theatre is such a wonderful tool to help youngsters develop self-confidence, self-esteem and global understanding of one another. It is also a great way to promote peace and understanding and empathy in an otherwise intolerant world.
“the little festival” is a wonderful platform for various countries to strengthen ties with the youth of India. It is an international theatre festival for young audiences organised by The Little Theatre every year in Chennai in South India. This is the fifth edition in as many years.
The Little Theatre is one of India’s leading not for profit children’s theatre companies. For the past 23 years the little theatre has been focused on helping children overcome the stress of schoolwork through high quality theatre productions and creative workshops. It is also a great platform to help discover their hidden talents and overcome inhibitions by acting in their annual Christmas Pantomimes which have been staged every year for the last 19 years. This December will be its 20th Christmas Pantomime: ‘Cinderella!’
InKo & Max Mueller Bhavan were part of the first two editions along with The Little Theatre’s home production. In the third edition China and Japan participated with a collaborative piece along with The Little Theatre's home production. And last year because of financial constraints we were unable to get any visiting productions. The Little Theatre's musical was a stand alone production which played to full houses and received critical acclaim. This year we are happy to welcome The British Council as our panel discussions partner.
This year we are showcasing three productions

But the tiger said that he can do that only if his soul was pure, failing which he would eat him.
